If you believe that something has gone wrong in the medical treatment you have received, you may be unsure about what to do. We specialise in Medical and Dental Law. We can discuss your options and advise you about all aspects of Clinical Negligence and related Human Rights issues.
What do we do?
We were one of the first firms in Wales to be awarded a Legal Aid franchise in Clinical Negligence - a hallmark of the quality of the work we do in this field. We are experienced in helping clients in your situation. We will be able to advise you on making a complaint, disciplinary proceedings against doctors and, of course, about making a claim for damages. Where appropriate, we will be able to liaise with Social Services, support groups and other agencies to ensure you get all the help you need.
Injuries suffered because of a medical or dental accident can be traumatic. The injuries often affect the lives, not only of the person who has been injured, but also of their families who may have to sacrifice a great deal to look after them. We understand that and do our utmost to build up a relationship of trust and confidence and provide you with the right advice so that you can start to rebuild your lives. Our team is supported by qualified nurses who bring their own expertise to the case. We pride ourselves on being able to achieve the best results for you, working with empathy, efficiency and competence.
When a claim is settled, it is vital that the damages recovered are invested appropriately and it is here that we are able to secure the right advice for you in your circumstances. We have close links with financial experts who are able to advise on the best way to invest damages for the future. Trusts can also be established to ensure that vital benefits are not lost.
In the last seven years, we have recovered many millions of pounds for clients who have suffered due to medical accidents. This has helped many clients to plan for a more secure financial future and to provide an immediate improvement in the quality of their lives and those of their families.
Recently we secured the largest ever fully litigated clinical negligence damages award for a client affected by cerebral palsy, which exceeded £11 million. This award has enabled the client to face the future confident that she can afford the help she needs.

In most cases, we offer a free initial meeting to discuss your case. At that meeting, we will be able to advise you about the best way to fund your case, which might include:
- Legal Expenses Insurance (“LEI”)
- Trade Union funding
- Fixed fees
- Contingency/Conditional Fee Agreements (“CFAs”)
- Public funding (“Legal Aid”)*
*Please note that significant changes to the law which affect the availability of Legal Aid will take effect on 1st April 2013. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you contact us as soon as possible to discuss your case, so that any application for public funding can be made at the earliest opportunity.
